Although aware of the importance of baptism, we have chosen to indicate the date of birth for homogeneity with other archives and to facilitate research. The date of baptism, in the past, however, often coincided with the birth date

All the data present in the records have been transcribed maintaining the spelling found, even if not correct, as in Gulielmina or Giuglia.

The abbreviations ved and cng stand for widow/widower and married. When the word “spouse” follows the godmother’s name ,it means she was the godfather’s wife. The term married is replaced by “ in”.

Unfortunately there are discrepancies in the annotations of the parish priests: the same person is sometimes indicated with variations of the name (for example Laura or Laureta or Loreta or Maria or Marietta or Marianna, Carlotta or Carolina).

There are also variations over time of some names (Giovanni Battista may become Gio Batta, Gioanni Battista, Gioanbattista, Gianbattista in different epochs) and some surnames (the transformation of the final o into i or vice versa is not rare). Sometimes the variations seem due to a transcription more similar to the dialect as in the case of Croce which becomes Cruce or Isabella which is transcribed Sabella.

Sometimes spelling or stains prevent us from deciphering exactly the first or last name: In these cases the possible alternatives are indicated in brackets or after a bar. If no attempt to decrypt is successful, you will find a question mark.

The place of birth and residence of the parents should always be considered Mirabello, unless otherwise specified.

For the baptized person, the annotation of the exact location in Mirabello (eg Baldesco, S. Giuseppe’s district, Dellavalle farmstead) has been added, when present.

In some periods, the occupations of parents and godparents are indicated; they are reported only if different from "farmer ".
